장미 성운입니다.

지금껏 NGC2244로 기억하고 있었는데, 이 번호는 장미성운 중앙에 있는 산개성단의 번호였네요.

장미성운은 NGC 2237, 2238, 2239, 2244, 2246 번으로 이루어져 있다는걸 이제야 알았습니다.


지구와 장미성운은 5000광년 떨어져 있고, 장미성운의 크기는 직경이 약 50광년이라고 합니다.

km단위로 환산하면 약 475조km네요. 어마어마 하게 큽니다.
